Was in the car on my way back from Jln Ampang today when i pass through this Malay housing estate. I saw this group of Malay people selling "Lemang" which was alright to me but i noticed the fire. Medium bonfire with lots and lots of smoke. Wait i should first explain what is a "lemang","lemang" is a Malay favourite especially during the Hari Raya celebrations. Its something like rice cooked in a bamboo over a fire and that smoke the fire releases is suppose to enhance the taste of the rice and with that we have "lemang" !
Problem : In whole of KL there might be around hundreds of "lemang" sellers and all of them releasing smoke in to the atmosphere. Smoke = CO2 = Greenhouse gas = increase tempreture !!! Solution : We could try a more ecological method to prepare the "lemang" if we still want it that much or we could just give it up ! More ecological method can included cooking it over a normal gas flame and lose the smoky taste ! Of course people will say, "Dude ! No smoke = no taste !" Well i say, "Idiot ! Got smoke = no atmosphere !"
